The Jaguars don't plan to big players in free agency, at least in the terms of going after the high priced free agents, but a player like Chris Canty would make sense if the Jaguars are planning on a lot of turnover and want some veteran presence. Canty, 30, has spent the last four season with the New York Giants as a defensive tackle, but has also played defensive end in a 3-4 front with the Dallas Cowboys, who drafted him in 2005.
On the Jaguars defense, Canty would likely play at the five-technique position, which is a big strong side defensive end who's asked to stop the run and also provide a bit of pass rush opposite the LEO.
The date for Canty's visit has yet to be announced, but he has also visited with the Chiefs and Titans.
