The Jacksonville Jaguars are interested in free agent defensive lineman Desmond Bryant, according to a report by Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports. This is the first free agent that the Jaguars have been linked to so far, but he would make perfect sense if the team went after him.
Bryant, 27, has been a good player for the Oakland Raiders the past few seasons and is expected to have a good market for his services going forward despite a recent misdemeanor criminal mischief arrest in South Florida a few weeks ago. Bryant would fit in the new Jaguars hybrid defensive front as either a five-technique or a three-technique at defensive tackle rushing the inside.
The Jaguars aren't expected to spend a ton of money in free agency this offseason, but their depth at defensive tackle is very thin and it could be one position they will end up paying for in free agency.
