Gus Bradley Creates a Culture of Competition

Pussyfooting: we will have none of that. The Jaguars had a culture that was weak as all get out last season. Players were scared of the Oklahoma Drill, often complained about the physical nature of practice, and shied away from playing with concussions.

On the first secret practice of the season, in order to keep within the rules of the NFL all offseason practices must be secret, Gus Bradley demonstrated what he was looking for in the players. Gus Bradley started off with a motivational speech. I have the transcript and will offer exclusive footage via words.

"GUYS! YOU HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY! YOU HAVE THE CHANCE OF A LIFE TIME! WE ARE GONNA GET BETTER EVERY DAY! IF YOU LOVE THIS CITY, IT WILL LOVE YOU BACK! AND.....AND..... AND IF YOU FIGHT THIS BIG ASS BEAR, HE WILL FIGHT YOU BACK!"

/door opens and bear enters

/Gus jumps on the bear and has no qualms about it

GUS: BEAR! I AM IN YOU! YOU WILL NOT RIP THIS OPPORTUNITY FROM US!

BEAR: You are a first year head coach. People dont expect much from the Jaguars.

GUS: WHAT IS YOUR NAME, BEAR?

BEAR: My name is An../ slapped in the face by Gus

GUS: IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOUR NAME IS.

/hits Bear with table /hits Bear with open hand

BEAR: well I never!

GUS: LISTEN, BEAR! YOU DID YOUR JOB TODAY! YOU GOT YOUR ASS KICKED BY ME BUT YOU GOT BETTER! NOW LAY DOWN!

BEAR: I dont wanna lay down, Coach. Im not tired.

GUS: LAY DOWN OR YOU WILL GET IT AGAIN!

/lay down.

Gus: see, now isnt this nice?

Bear: the nicest.

We all just got better.
