List of NFL free agents: Players still available for the Jaguars to target

While the Jaguars stayed out of the headlines on Tuesday, there's still plenty of moves available for them to make.

On the first day of the new league year, the Jaguars were extremely quiet in free agency and didn't sign a single player or even crack the headlines as a team with interest in anyone. While they were connected to former-Lions and Colts quarterback Drew Stanton, that didn't develop into anything on Tuesday.

However, plenty of players remain without a team on Wednesday and the Jaguars still have plenty of options to upgrade their roster long-term. Here are a few players that are still on the market that the Jaguars could target:

Sebastian Vollmer, OT, New England Patriots

It was initially assumed by many that Vollmer would be the class of the offensive tackles on the market and carry the price tag that comes with that; however, his day was very quiet on Tuesday and no interest in the right tackle was reported. While that's almost definitely not the actual case, Vollmer might not be the prized free agent that many thought he would be and could carry a price tag comparable to the very affordable $6-7 million per year that Phil Loadholt received from the Minnesota Vikings. If that's the case, the 28-year old could be a huge get for the Jaguars.

Vance Walker, DT, Atlanta Falcons

Walker has only started in 10 of 58 career games so it's not particularly surprising that he didn't draw much interest in the first day of free agency, but the 6-2, 295-pound defensive tackle was very productive in his time on the field in 2012 and could be a great scheme fit for the Jaguars as a 3-tech. He wouldn't fill the void left by Terrance Knighton, but he could help sure up a defensive line that has several holes to fill.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Buffalo Bills

Not an overwhelmingly shocking cut, the release of Fitzpatrick was somewhat unanticipated on Tuesday and sent a starting quarterback on to the market. While he's not a franchise quarterback that'll lead a team to the promised land, he is a solid game manager that completed more than 60% of his passes with 3,400 yards, 24 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. For a team that could use all the quarterback competition it can find and is said to be kicking the tires on Drew Stanton, Fitzpatrick may be a fit for the Jaguars.

Eric Winston, OT, Kansas City Chiefs

Winston has been good enough to earn two pretty big contracts in the last two years and bad enough to have both of those contracts voided after one season. After two failed big deals, Winston's price wont be nearly as big and he can still be a solid right tackle for a team that needs a filler at the position. A team like the Jaguars.

Leon Washington, RB/KR, Seattle Seahawks

Washington is tied with Joshua Cribbs for the most kickoff return touchdowns all-time and had the best kick return average of his career in 2012. Released on Tuesday, there are plenty of reasons to think that the Jacksonville-native could head back to his hometown, but the biggest reason is that he could provide kick return help to a team that hasn't been very good at returning kickoffs in the last decade or so.
