2013 NFL Mock Draft: Ezekiel 'Ziggy' Ansah to the Jaguars

Ziggy Ansah was one of the workout warriors at the NFL Combine.

USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars will certainly be looking for a pass rusher in the 2013 NFL Draft, but the big question is which direction will they go? Will they go for the upside at the number two overall pick? Will they go for the productive big conference player?

In the past, that was an easy question to answer. The Jaguars wouldn't dare chose the player who was a big risk, as in the combine workout warrior who hasn't quite been able to put that athleticism on the field yet because they need a lot of coaching on technique. This season though, we really have no idea.

John Oehser of Jaguars.com released his 2013 NFL Mock Draft and has the Jaguars going after the player with the most upside in the draft:

No. 2: Jacksonville Jaguars - Ezekiel Ansah, DE, BYU

So for now, because mock drafts generate interest - and, of course, page views - we'll offer Ansah as the choice at No. 2 for the Jaguars. He's an ascending pass rusher with a ton of upside, and amid the pre-draft speculation, many are speculating that he could rise to the top of a lot of teams' boards by April 25. So, he's as good a choice as any.

Will he indeed be at the top of the Jaguars'? Stayed tuned.

As Oehser mentioned, Ansah is a player that a lot of NFL teams are going to be intrigued by. He's a big defensive lineman who's also versatile, agile, and is just scratching the surface with his on field ability. In layman's terms, he's just going out there and playing right now, he has no idea what he's even doing as far as technique and how to use leverage as a pass rusher. He'll need to be coached in that regard, but if a team thinks they can coach him up they could have a pass rushing monster on their hands in a season or two.
