Free NFL RedZone on mobile for season ticket holders in works

The NFL is planning on making NFL RedZone free on mobile devices to all season ticket holders in 2013, according to a report by Daniel Kaplan of the Sports Business Journal via his Twitter feed.

The NFL is trying to make a push to increase the "value" of purchasing season tickets for fans, as attendance across the league has dipped the past few seasons. One of the reasons for the dip in attendance is the fact that the home experience has become almost better than the game day experience in the stadium for some people. With the availability of HD television and the RedZone channel, some fans at home have a better experience.

With the addition of RedZone on mobile devices, the NFL is giving fans a chance to have that same experience at the game on Sundays. Though, the next push should be stadium-wide WiFi with plenty of bandwidth, as cell receptions in NFL games is typically a pain.
