Jaguars Notebook: NFL Draft will be same weekend as Players Championship |
Citing a scheduling conflict with Radio City Music Hall, the NFL proceeded as expected Tuesday, announcing the 2014 draft will be pushed back two weeks to early May.The draft will be held May 8-10 in New York, the league opting to move the date and keep the location instead of other options.The rest of the league calendar will remain the same next year. The Scouting Combine will be Feb. 18-25 in Indianapolis, free agency will start March 11 and the spring owner’s meetings will be March 23-26 in Orlando.

Agent: Maurice Jones-Drew not involved in bar fight -
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew allegedly hit a security guard in the face at the Conch House bar and restaurant in St. Augustine, Fla. on Sunday, according to a police report. His agent, however, said no charges have been filed and Jones-Drew didn't hit anybody. "We have confirmed with the St. Augustine Police Department that no charges have been filed against Maurice and that the matter is under investigation," agent Adisa Bakari told's Ian Rapoport. "While Maurice was present when the events in question began, he quickly departed the premises immediately thereafter. Maurice was not involved in any physical altercation, whatsoever."
