Matt Scott injury: Jaguars QB in walking boot

USA TODAY Sports

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Matt Scott is in a walking boot and not practicing on the second day of rookie mini-camp. Scott, signed as an undrafted free agent, appeared to turn his ankle late in practice on Friday and is now in a walking boot and sitting out, likely in just a precautionary measure.

Scott was picked up by the Jaguars immediately following the draft, as he surprisingly went undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft. The Jaguars are going to have an open competition going forward at the quarterback position, and while it's highly unlikely that an undrafted free agent wins the job, Scott as a nice skill set for the NFL, especially with more and more teams running pistol and read-option concepts.
