The Jacksonville Jaguars took a day off of training camp on Tuesday, as mandated by the collective bargaining agreement, but they get back on the practice field Wednesday morning at 9:55 a.m. ET in full pads for the first time. The team spent the first couple of days in just practice uniforms, shorts, and helmets but on Sunday threw on half pads (shells) and some players started to separate themselves.
On Wednesday the team will don the full pads and fans will get a real glimpse at how some of the players will look on the field. Full pads means hitting, albeit not fully to the ground, but expect someone to lay a lick in 11-on-11 drills at some point.
The biggest thing to watch now with full pads is the lines of scrimmage, as now we should get a better look at how the offensive and defensive lineman handle themselves. Players like Pannel Egboh, Tyson Alualu, and Sen'Derrick Marks have shown well thus far in shells, but how will they fare in real contact with full pads?
The team will wear full pads on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with the public scrimmage on Saturday evening. All are free and open to the public.
