Did the Jacksonville Jaguars improve at offensive tackle in 2013?

USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle position realistically only made one drastic change during the 2013 offseason, which was adding Luke Joeckel and releasing Guy Whimper from the squad. While Cameron Bradfield remains, he's back in arguably his best spot, back up swing tackle, rather than in the starting lineup.

2012 Offensive Tackles Eugene Monroe, Guy Whimper, Eben Britton, Cameron Bradfield, Daniel Baldridge
2013 Offensive Tackles Eugene Monroe, Luke Joeckel, Cameron Bradfield, R.J. Dill, Roderick Tomlin

Realistically just the addition of Luke Joeckel to the lineup should make the Jaguars offensive tackle spot significantly better, even if Joeckel struggles early on to make the transition to the right side of the line. As long as he's not consistently getting beat on passing downs like Guy Whimper was, he's an upgrade.

Advantage: The 2013 squad based on potential alone. Really. Just the removal of Guy Whimper makes them better, not even considering Luke Joeckel.
