The Jacksonville Jaguars have been fortunate enough to only be dealing with minor injuries so far in the preseason. First-round pick Luke Joeckel has sat out the past three days of practice, including Wednesday, with a hip flexor.
"It's just lingering," Joeckel told Hays Carlyon of The Florida Times-Union. "I felt it strain in the scrimmage a couple weeks ago, the one in the stadium. Since then, I've been playing through it and then it locked up on me. So, we're trying to just knock it out."
If it were a regular season game on Saturday, I would guess that Joeckel would be practicing somewhat and would play, but I wouldn't be shocked to see him sit out the rest of the week and the game against the New York Jets.
The Jaguars are taking a different approach with injuries this season, which is obvious by how cautious they are being with players who have nicks and are recovering from surgery.
Come Week 1, Joeckel should be fine and ready to start and really that's all that matters.
