Jaguars will start Blaine Gabbert vs. Jets

The Jaguars have decided to start quarterback Blaine Gabbert against the Jets on Saturday.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert on Saturday against the New York Jets in the team's second preseason game, Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley announced on Thursday. There was some thought that Chad Henne might get the nod after performing slightly better than Gabbert in the team's first preseason game against the Miami Dolphins.

The Jaguars quarterbacks, and really offense as a whole, reportedly had a rough week of practice until they picked up the pace on Wednesday. With Gabbert getting the nod against the Jets, making it two starts in a row for the preseason, one may be led to think that he's won the quarterback job and will be the starter for Week 3 of the preseason and Week 1 of the regular season.

If Gabbert can put together a solid performance against the Jets, he can slam the door shut. If he goes out and bombs however, the door will still be wide open for Chad Henne.
