NFL roster cuts: Jaguars will decide which players to release today

The NFL deadline to cut rosters to 75 players is on Tuesday, but the Jaguars will decide their first round of cuts on Sunday.

NFL teams have to reduce their rosters from 90 to 75 players by Tuesday afternoon, but the Jacksonville Jaguars appear to be deciding on their cuts on Sunday rather than waiting, according to Ryan O'Halloran.

The Jaguars roster currently sits at 88 players, which means the team will need to make 13 cuts to meet the roster requirement. The first cut typically has few surprises, as teams hold on to some "bubble" players until the last moment, often hoping to entertain a trade.

Final cutdown day is on Saturday, August 31 in where teams must cut their roster to 53 players.
