Jaguars vs. Falcons 2013: First half game thread

Join the BCC community to discuss Thursday's preseason game between the Falcons and Jaguars.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will wrap up their 2013 preseason on Thursday night when the team travels to face the Atlanta Falcons. The Jaguars were without starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert for their previous preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles and the same will be true against the Falcons after Gabbert suffered a broken thumb in the second preseason game of the year. That means that Chad Henne is going to get the start with Mike Kafka, Matt Scott and newly-acquired Ricky Stanzi fighting for the remaining snaps.

The Falcons, like the Jaguars, have not yet won a preseason game and are underdogs on Thursday night, despite being the home team and, quite frankly, the better roster. Notorious for sitting plenty of starters for the final preseason game, the Falcons are unlikely to feature any of their top players at all on Thursday, including starting quarterback Matt Ryan.

Along with Gabbert, the Jaguars will also be without Maurice Jones-Drew, Paul Posluszny, Brad Meester, Roy Miller, Russell Allen, Justin Forsett, Chris Prosinski, Will Rackley, Marcedes Lewis, Jeremy Mincey and Kevin Rutland.
