Inside the Jaguars: Jones-Drew where he needs to be
Almost two weeks in, Maurice Jones-Drew feels good. He won’t say he feels “better than expected,” because he didn’t doubt he would return and play this season, but the Jaguars’ three-time Pro Bowl running back is running well in 2013 training camp practice, and appears stronger each day. That’s true even though Jones-Drew spent the offseason rehabilitating a foot injury, and even though many observers wondered if he would be ready for training camp.

Jaguars Notebook: QB announcement coming Thursday |
Jaguars coach Gus Bradley continues to let the quarterback competition play out without showing his hand until the last minute. After Wednesday’s practice, he said again he won’t announce until Thursday whether Blaine Gabbert or Chad Henne will start the Friday night preseason opener against Miami. Instead, Bradley lauded the quarterbacks for their play.

Jaguars awarded wide receiver Charly Martin off waivers
The Jacksonville Jaguars today were awarded fourth-year wide receiver Charly Martin off waivers from San Francisco. The Jaguars’ roster currently stands at the NFL limit of 90 players. Martin, 6-1, 212, has played in 12 career games with one start and totaled five receptions for 48 yards. He has spent time with San Diego, Carolina, Seattle, San Francisco and was on the Jaguars’ practice squad for the final four weeks in 2011.

Matchup to Watch: Jacksonville Jaguars vs Miami Dolphins
There’s a very good chance we’ll get to see two of the top-3 players in this year’s draft go up against each other, as Jordan may very well be lined up over Joeckel, and we’ll get to see the highest-drafted defensive lineman square-off against the arguably the best offensive tackle in this class. Joeckel hopes to solidify an offensive line that gave up 50 sacks last season.
