The Jacksonville Jaguars will be sitting running back Maurice Jones-Drew for Friday's preseason matchup with the Miami Dolphins, as they had planned to do all along. Jones-Drew is recovering from a lisfranc injury that sidelined him for the final 10 weeks of the 2012 season.
The team has been brining Jones-Drew along slowly in practice, letting him participate in limited full team drills during training camp as they had planned all along.
Jones-Drew is considered to be ahead of schedule and slated to be ready to start the season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs, but it appears the team is being smart and limiting his exposure in the preseason, as they should. We know what Jones-Drew is capable of and he's looked healthy in practice.
Jordan Todman will begin the game as the starting running back.
