The Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Miami Dolphins on Friday evening to open the 2013 preseason. We know a lot about the Jaguars, but what about the Dolphins? I got a hold of Kevin Nogle over at The Phinsider to ask him some questions about the Dolphins, and what we can look for.
The Dolphins were one of the most active and free spending teams in the 2013 free agency period, which drew a lot of criticism from a lot of pundits.
There have been some criticism in the amount of money the Dolphins payed out in the offseason, how have the new FA acquisitions looked so far?
So far, the Dolphins should be getting exactly what they thought they would. Mike Wallace and Dannell Ellerbe, unfortunately, are a little banged up right now, and likely will not play Friday night, but it's not something that would keep them out if this were the regular season (at least, that's what's believed). Dustin Keller is becoming a favorite target of Tannehill, and the two should work well together all season long. Linebacker Philip Wheeler looked uncomfortable during the HOF Game, but that could also be due to the abence of Ellerbe (and Randy Starks and Jared Odrick at defensive tackle). Brent Grimes may end up being the steal of free agency. He has been dominant in practice, showing no ill effects from his torn Achilles tendon last year.
