The Jacksonville Jaguars released of seven players on Sunday to make room for the addition of seven players claimed earlier in the afternoon, according to John Oehser of Jaguars.com. Among the most notable players released by the Jaguars were defensive tackle Kyle Love and wide receiver Jordan Shipley.
Also released by the team on Sunday were defensive back Antwon Blake, tight end Brett Brackett, center Dan Gerberry, fullback Lonnie Pryor and linebacker Andy Studebaker.
Love was reported earlier in the day, but he is the most surprising of the seven considering the depth the team has at the 1-technique position. Also surprising is the release of Jordan Shipley, who made the roster at a position that was already slim in numbers due to an upcoming suspension for Justin Blackmon.
Ultimately though, the additions of players like Clay Harbor, D.J. Williams, Winston Guy and Stephen Burton made many of these players expendable.
