Jaguars vs. Raiders injury report: Marcedes Lewis tests calf

Marcedes Lewis is "a long-shot" for Sunday's game, but he tested his calf on the sideline on Wednesday.

Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis still isn't sure if he'll be able to make his season debut against the Oakland Raiders in Week 2, but he inched one step closer to rejoining the team on Wednesday, as he tested his calf on the sideline. While he still didn't participate in practice, it is the first sign of a return for the eight-year veteran, although head coach Gus Bradley said he is a "long-shot" to play on Sunday.

Also missing practice on Wednesday was guard Will Rackley, who has struggled with injuries throughout his career with the team so far. After struggling through much of the season opener, Rackley suffered a knee injury that led to Mike Brewster's insertion into the lineup. A terrible player through preseason, Brewster actually played well in relief of Rackley and could be asked to do so again in Week 2.

Here's the full injury report from practice on Wednesday:

Player Wednesday Thursday Friday Game Status
Blaine Gabbert (hand) Out Out
Dwayne Gratz (ankle) Out Out
Marcedes Lewis (calf) DNP
Will Rackley (knee) DNP
Uche Nwaneri (knee) Limited
Mike Brown (back) Limited
Jordan Todman (shoulder) Limited
Cecil Shorts III (groin) Limited
Roy Miller (knee) Limited

Both Gabbert and Gratz have been previously ruled out by the team for Sunday's game against the Raiders. Veterans Maurice Jones-Drew, Brad Meester and Jason Babin were all given the day off.
