Before Week 1, Jaguars fans would have almost certainly said that the roster built by Dave Caldwell so far is better than the one that Reggie McKenzie has built for the Oakland Raiders. After a bad loss at the hands of the Chiefs and a strong showing for the Raiders against the Colts, fans might see differently.
Neither team is likely to be competing in the postseason in January, but that doesn't mean that there isn't some young talent on both rosters.
Which Raiders player should Jaguars fans want right now?
The Raiders roster has plenty of holes to fill, but there were some players harassing Andrew Luck and the Colts offense on Sunday as they held them scoreless for 35 minutes and scored 17 unanswered.
If I had to pick one player from the Oakland Raiders, I would take defensive end Lamarr Houston. A second-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, Houston is still only 26 and has consistently improved in each of his three seasons in the NFL. Now in his fourth year, Houston recorded a sack in Week 1 and would provide the Jaguars with a top-notch 5 technique defensive end to eat up space and collapse the pocket opposite the LEO position.
PS: Welcome to our friends at Silver & Black Pride who are reading this. Jaguars fans, that's your home for Raiders info this week.
