Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said before practice today that running back Maurice Jones-Drew’s status for Sunday’s game in Seattle is "up in the air" because of a left ankle injury."We just need to get that swelling down – it’s still evident that it’s there," Bradley said at San Jose State University. "We’ll see what he can do tomorrow but it’s really up in the air for the game.

The last time the Jaguars played Seattle in 2009, they lost 41-0 in Seattle. At that time, the result was a surprise because the Seahawks finished 5-11 and the Jaguars finished 7-9. This time, a lopsided game wouldn't be a surprise because the Seahawks are 19.5 to 20-point favorites over a Jaguar team that has scored just 11 points in two games while losing to Kansas City at home and Oakland. By contrast, the Seahawks are 2-0 in the wake of a 29-3 victory over San Francisco and are a Super Bowl contender.

The most obvious weakness for the Seahawks heading into Week 3's matchup with the Jaguars will be at left tackle. Backup Paul McQuistan should be better off with a week of practice and reps getting down some of the 'more nuanced' protections that Seattle runs, as Pete Carroll put it in a press conference this week, but the fact of the matter is that Seattle will be without their Pro Bowl left tackle in Russell Okung. From what I understand, Jason Babin has moved into the role of Gus Bradley's starting LEO and McQuistan will have his hands full with the veteran pass rusher. If it's not Babin, he'll have to deal with any number of Jacksonville's young pass rushers. Either way, Carroll has said that they will do nothing different in terms of protection this week compared to how they normally run their offense with Okung on the blindside, but coaches say a lot of things, and it wouldn't surprise me to see a few strategies implemented to make up for the deficiency at left tackle.
