Inside the Jaguars: Jones-Drew questionable
Maurice Jones-Drew now appears a bit more likely. Even so, the Jaguars’ three-time Pro Bowl running back’s status remained uncertain Friday as the team wrapped up its final full practice of the week at San Jose State University. Jones-Drew, the NFL’s leading rusher in 2011, missed practice Wednesday and Thursday with a strained tendon in his ankle, and Jaguars Head Coach Gus Bradley said Thursday Jones-Drew probably wouldn’t play Sunday in Seattle unless fully healthy. Bradley said Jones-Drew worked on a limited basis Friday, and will be listed as questionable.

Seeing what Oakland’s defense had done in its opener, realizing his own team’s problems on offense and sensing his best receiver’s opening-game frustrations, Jaguars coach Gus Bradley pulled Cecil Shorts aside last week before heading to the West Coast.Bradley knew the Raiders would shade their safety toward Shorts’ side of the field, partly out of respect for his 2012 production and partly because, well, who else are they going to double team? And then Bradley challenged Shorts.
Friday in Hawkville: Chris Clemons to play against Jaguars
A recap of the events at Virginia Mason Athletic Center for Sept. 20, when the Seahawks held their final full practice before Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at CenturyLink Field. It was eight months and two weeks ago that Clemons – or Clem, as his teammates and coaches call him – damaged a ligament and meniscus in his left knee during the wild-card victory over the Washington Redskins. After not only making it through a full week of practice, but looking better each day, coach Pete Carroll announced that Clemons is ready to play.
