Jaguars rookie Denard Robinson referred to himself as an offensive weapon in interviews after he was selected in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft and just a couple months later, a new position was born. Now, less than a month into Robinson's rookie season, the 'OW' designation is no more.
Robinson is now listed as a wide receiver on the team's official roster, although fans shouldn't read too much into the new "position change," of sorts. According to Hays Carlyon of the Florida Times-Union, the NFL asked the Jaguars to change the position of Robinson.
While Robinson has not yet been targeted as a pass catcher and has been primarily used in the backfield, the team could not list him as a running back and still allow him to wear jersey No. 16.
The Jaguars are already 0-3, NFL. Why do you have to ruin whatever fun we have left? /pouts /immediately gets over it
