Blaine Gabbert will be starting at quarterback for the Jaguars when they take on the Chiefs in the opening game of the 2013 season.

Gabbert was named the team's starting quarterback after the second preseason game. He suffered a fractured thumb in that exhibition game, though, and missed the rest of the preseason, putting his Week 1 status in jeopardy. If Gabbert can revert back to the form he captured in the second preseason game, the Jaguars offense has a chance to look much better.

It's been a long offseason, but the Jaguars will finally take the field with a new logo, new uniforms and a new head coach. There are also plenty of fresh faces on the Jaguars' roster after general manager David Caldwell did a massive overhaul to start the rebuilding.

The Chiefs, meanwhile, were the only team in the NFL worse than the Jaguars in 2012. They responded by hiring a new head coach and trading for former 49ers quarterback Alex Smith. Kansas City is favored by 3.5 points on Sunday.

The official list of inactive players for Sunday's game:
