Blaine Gabbert injury: Jaguars QB gets 15 stitches on right hand

Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert gets 15 stitches in his throwing hand.

Sam Greenwood

Jacksonville Jaguars starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert left Sunday's 28-2 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs with a laceration on his right hand, which wound up requiring 14 stitches according to Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union after the game.

Gabbert finished the game against the Chiefs going 16 of 35 with 121 yards and two interceptions, including one that was returned for a touchdown. Gabbert was also sacked six times on the day, getting hit nearly double that as the interior of the offensive line played abysmal much of the game.

Overall Gabbert was pretty awful and looked confused against the multiple looks he was given against the Chiefs. His status for Sunday against the Oakland Raiders is up in the air, but a laceration requiring 15 stitches may not heal enough in a week for him to start.
