In the span of one week, the Jacksonville Jaguars have suffered througn some pretty bad developments as it pertains to their defense -- linebacker Paul Posluszny is on season-ending IR, defensive end Andre Branch is out for the next six or so weeks, cornerback Alan Ball is out with a bicep injury, and fellow cornerback Dwayne Gratz is questionable this week, with doubts that even if he plays he'll play at 100%.
If I was going to grab a member of the Miami Dolphins, I should probably upgrade my defense and get middle linebacker Koa Misi or pass rusher Cameron Wake. But instead, I'm going to shore up my rushing game and select running back Lamar Miller.
Even with second-year running back Denard Robinson having the best game of his career last week, I'm still going with Miller. Until Robinson shows me he can run 18-20 times and withstand that kind of beating, I'm not passing up Miller because the Dolphins running back has proven he can do it.
A fourth-round draft pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Miller has slowly been brought into Miami's offense. He only had a handful of carries his rookie season, but with an improved offensive line and a season under his belt he had more than 200 touches last year. This year, he's definitely the feature back in a (surprisingly) good and balanced Dolphins offense.
And even with all those things going for him, Miller is only 23... a full year younger than Robinson.
I picked MIller to hopefully set our running game for the foreseeable future. Who would you pick?
