Will Blackmon injury: Jaguars CB out with broken finger

The Jaguars will be without their starting nickel corner.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Jacksonville Jaguars nickel corner Will Blackmon will be out "indefinitely" with a broken finger, the team announced on Monday afternoon. It's a blow for a Jaguars defense that has been playing well the past four to five weeks, but the team has shown a bit of depth in the secondary.

With Blackmon out it's likely someone like Demetrius McCray or Dwayne Gratz will have to get some work on the inside to replace Blackmon in the lineup.

It could also mean we could see Aaron Colvin sooner this season than we expected, that is if his knee proves to be ready for him to hit the football field.

The Jaguars originally picked up Blackmon on waivers last season when he was released from the Seattle Seahawks, but signed him to a new two-year deal in the offseason because of his play with the Jaguars in 2013.

It's just another injury in the secondary the team has to deal with.
