The Jacksonville Jaguars have placed cornerback Alan Ball on injured reserve on Wednesday, according to a report by John Oehser of Jaguars.com.

Ball was signed as a free agent last season and quickly solidified his role as a starting corner and was the Jaguars best corner most of this season. He left the game against the Cleveland Browns with a biceps injury and got a second opinion on it last week, though was inactive for the game against the Miami Dolphins.

To replace Ball on the roster the Jaguars have signed Tommie Campbell, a former seventh-round pick of the Tennessee Titans.

With Ball out for the season, the Jaguars will likely be starting Dwayne Gratz and Demetrius McCray on the outside, both corners who were drafted last season. Veteran corner Will Blackmon was also ruled out for an indefinite amount of time, meaning the Jaguars back seven is now looking a little thin,
