Jaguars activate WR Ace Sanders to 53-man roster

The team has promoted formerly suspended wide receiver Ace Sanders to the 53-man roster, and to make room they've waived tight end Mickey Shuler.

The Jacksonville Jaguars may be without two of their wide receivers in Cecil Shorts III and Marqise Lee, but they're getting one back in Ace Sanders.

According to John Oehser of Jaguars.com, Sanders has been activated to the 53-man roster. Whether he'll be active for Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers remains to be seen.

Sanders was suspended for the first four games of the season. The reason for the suspension was likely drug-related, but specifics weren't related.

"I've decided to go seek help and get that attention," Sanders said on a July conference call. "I should be fine. I've made some mistakes that I could have handled a little differently."

I'm excited that Sanders is likely to be active for his first game of the 2014 NFL season, but I'm even more happy to see that Sanders apparently got the help he needed.
