Five days ago, the Jacksonville Jaguars put starting cornerback Alan Ball on injured reserve. Today, they lost nickel cornerback Will Blackmon.

The move will mean that veteran backup Sherrod Martin may continue to see time at the nickel cornerback position. He played 41 snaps yesterday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Jaguars originally signed Blackmon on waivers in 2013 when he was released from the Seattle Seahawks. He played well last year, and the team signed him to a new two-year deal last offseason.
I'm sure y'all got the news. Extremely tough for me to deal with right now. I'll get through. Your support is much appreciated. #Duval

Replacing Blackmon on the 53-man roster is linebacker Khari Fortt, who was originally a fourth-round draft pick by the New Orleans Saints in 2014. Fortt opened the season on the injured reserve/designated to return list before he was waived on October 6. He was claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals on October 7, waived on October 14, signed to their practice squad and snapped up by the Jaguars today.
