Jaguars open as 4.5-point underdogs to Texans

The Jaguars are coming off an impressive comeback victory against the Giants and as a result are probably not as big an underdog as they should be.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are 2-10, mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, and their offense has some major kinks to work out. The Houston Texans are 6-6, two games out of the AFC South lead, and playing the last-place Jaguars.

And yet, Vegas has said that the Texans are no more than 4.5-point favorites.

According to VegasInsider, the Jaguars are listed at an average of 4.5-point underdogs, with the betting line ranging between four and five points, but the most frequent line being 4.5. The over/under is also set at 42 points.

That means that if Vegas is correct, the Texans will win 23-19 on Sunday. With the Jaguars defense carrying this team and rookie quarterback Blake Bortles still figuring things out and throwing to a depleted receiving corps, that sounds about right.
