Sen'Derrick Marks injury: Jaguars DT tears ACL

The Jaguars announced their star defensive tackle tears his ACL.

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced that veteran defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks tore his ACL in Sunday's loss to the Houston Texans. Marks went down in the first half of the game and limped off the field, eventually making his way to the locker room. It didn't appear to be a serious injury, but as we now know, it's a very serious one.

It's uncertain if Marks will be available for the start of the 2015 NFL season and more likely he will begin the year on the PUP list.

There were quite a few complains about the turf at NRG Stadium, which has been bad for a while, and it was evident yesterday with multiple players struggling to keep their footing. The Jaguars radio broadcast made note of the poor shape of the field before the game even started.

That's not to say that the field turf is what caused Marks' injury, but nonetheless it's a big blow for one of the Jaguars biggest play makers on the defensive side of the ball.
