Josh Scobee named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week

The Jaguars kicker was given a weekly award for his game winning kick against the Giants on Sunday.

Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the week for his 43-yard game winning field goal against the New York Giants on Sunday. It was the finishing touch on the biggest come back win in franchise history, as well as Scobee's eighth career game winning field goal.

Scobee is no stranger to the award, having won the award for the eighth time.

It was nice to see special teams not have big issues on Sunday against the Giants, as it's been a rocky situation all year. I won't lie, watching the team lineup to take the kick my stomach was in knots and I was repeating "don't get blocked don't get blocked don't get blocked" under my breath until the ball split the uprights.

It's pretty amazing the recognition that comes after a win, as rookies Aaron Colvin and Blake Bortles are both up for awards and defensive tackle Sen'Derrick Marks was awarded the SBNation Hoss of the Week award.
