The Jacksonville Jaguars are a clear game ahead of the last-place Oakland Raiders and as a result have cleared themselves of much likelihood of getting the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.
According to Zack Kempner at numberFire, only seven teams have a legitimate shot at getting the first pick and the Jaguars are comfortably in second place.
Oakland Raiders - 59.62%
Jacksonville Jaguars - 16.98%
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 10.16%
Tennessee Titans - 7.92%
New York Jets - 4.74%
Washington Redskins - 0.30%
New York Giants - 0.28%
Using their internal efficiency metrics, numberFire calculates each team's chances of winning every game in its remaining schedule. Then they simulate the NFL season thousands of times to determine the probability that each team will have the worst record in the NFL.
And with all those calculations, the Raiders are still more than three times as likely to finish in dead last this year.
