The Jaguars continue to be one of the busiest teams in the early free agency period and have added more depth along their defensive line on Thursday morning.
The team announced that they have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Ziggy Hood to add to the crazy amount of depth the team has added so far in free agency along the defensive line.
Hood was a former first-round pick back in 2009, but never lived up to his potential with the Steelers. In five career seasons, Hood has 11.5 sacks.
Coming to Jacksonville seems to be a way for Hood to resurrect his career in a defensive scheme that could potentially suit his talents. In Pittsburgh, Hood played as a 3-4 defensive end, but he most likely will kick inside and provide depth behind Sen'Derrick Marks at the 3-technique defensive tackle position. He can also spend some time at the 5-tech defensive end position, giving Gus Bradley another versatile defensive line piece.
