For the first time in franchise history, the Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to announce a change of radio and television coverage, as WOKV 690 AM and WTEV TV-47 will no longer serve as the official radio and television stations of the team, according to a report from Jeff Elliott of the Florida Times-Union.
Instead official radio coverage of the Jaguars will be provided by WJXL 1010 AM and WGNE 99.9 FM, while television coverage will be taken over by WJXT TV-4. That means that preseason coverage that hasn't been pre-empted by a national network will be provided by WJXT, in addition to an official Jaguars show on Monday nights and exclusive access to the team.
The 2013 broadcast coverage was provided by Brian Sexton, Tony Boselli, Jeff Lageman and Brent Martineau, but the 2014 team has not yet been announced. According to Elliott, it will be a team that is mutually agreed upon between the Jaguars and station.
WOKV has provided radio coverage for the team since 1995, but its contract with the Jaguars expires at the end of the month. Sexton has been the play-by-play announcer on the station for each of the 19 seasons of the Jaguars.
