Maurice Jones-Drew agrees to terms with Raiders, per report

Former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew officially has a new team in free agency, heading back to Oakland.

Free agent running back Maurice Jones-Drew has agreed to terms with the Oakland Raidersaccording to a report by Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area, and as soon as he passes a physical on Friday the deal will be finalized.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but I can't imagine it will be for very  much. Jones-Drew had a lot of late interest in free agency from the New England PatriotsMiami DolphinsPittsburgh SteelersNew York Jets and the team he ultimately has signed with, the Raiders.

This officially marks the end of the Jones-Drew era in Jacksonville. Jones-Drew ends his Jaguars career second all-time in rushing yards with 8,071 yards on the ground. He was originally drafted in the second-round of the 2006 NFL Draft to be the eventual replacement for longtime back Fred Taylor.

Jones-Drew was a sensation playmaker for most of his Jaguars career, but injuries and carries took their toll the past two seasons as he dealt with injuries and failed to eclipse the 1,000 yard mark. The three-time Pro Bowler is likely to compete with Darren McFadden for carries. If Jones-Drew can stay healthy and clear of leg injuries, which he's dealt with since 2011, he should at least be a great addition on third downs and in pass protection.
