The 2014 NFL Draft is over and done with. We're looking at the nine guys we selected and we're just as excited -- if not more so -- than when we looked at last year's selections.
Usually, I'd temper my excitement just a week removed from the draft. But looking at last year's draft class, all eight players are still on the roster and four of them are penciled in as second-year starters.
The rest will most likely see significant time on the field. Even with a roster that was decimated and devoid of talent prior to the 2013 season, that's still a good sign.
Early indications are that no less than three players from this year's draft will start, with the rest assigned specific roles and situations in 2014. And not counting Aaron Colvin, I'd expect everyone in our most recent draft class to make the final 53-man roster.
But Dave & Co. didn't stop after the draft. I think our front office signed a handful of UDFAs who will make the team -- including QB Stephen Morris, WR Allen Hurns, TE Marcel Jensen, and S Craig Loston.
With all of that said, and having learned a little bit more about the 2014 draft class and the UDFAs the team signed, how would you grade GM Dave Caldwell a week after the draft?
