In the 50 days leading up to the preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers we're counting down the 50 best plays of 2013.
Yesterday at No. 42 was Alan Ball defending Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon on a near-touchdown. At No. 41 was Tyson Alualu and his first sack of the season.
Alualu primarily plays the five-technique defensive end role for the Jaguars. Because he's on the end, people expect him to rack of the sacks, but it's primarily a run-stopping position that sets the edge on the strong side of the defensive line.
But within defensive coordinator Bob Babich's scheme, Alualu is also asked to generate interior pressure at times, and that's exactly what he did in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts.
Alualu earned his first and only solo sack of the season with brute strength, running over Colts center Mike McGlynn.
Should Alualu's sack be on the list? Let us know in the comments below!
