50 best plays of 2013 - No. 36: Maurice Jones-Drew's run vs. Broncos

We're counting down the 50 best plays of 2013. Who made it to No. 36? Maurice Jones-Drew and a flash of what once was against the Denver Broncos.

In the 50 days leading up to the preseason opener between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, we're counting down the 50 best plays of 2013.

Yesterday at No. 37 was wide receiver Mike Brown, and his individual effort to score a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans.

At No. 36 is a Maurice Jones-Drew and a 28-yard run against the Denver Broncos.

On its own, this play probably shouldn't be as high as it is. But situationally, this run came in the middle of the third quarter against a Denver Broncos team that was playing its best football. With the Jaguars only down by nine, Jones-Drew helped move past midfield and threaten to cut the Broncos' lead to two.

Also, this play just reminds me of the Jones-Drew of old -- squeezing through the line, bumping off of several defensive linemen, almost losing balance but staying upright, and throwing an opposing cornerback to the ground.

Should Maurice Jones-Drew's 28-yard run against the Broncos be on the list? Let us know in the comments below!
