Jaguars vs. Bears: Preseason Week 2 open thread

Here's your open discussion thread to talk about anything and everything dealing with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears preseason matchup.

Phil Sears-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars head to Chicago to take on the Bears on Thursday night in a nationally televised preseason game, the only game of the day.

It will be a good test for the Jaguars coming off a game against the Buccaneers where the Jags defensive line seemed to dominate not just with the starters, but even into the second and third team.

It'll also be a good chance to gauge the Jaguars offensive line, as the Bears defensive line as a whole is just as good, if not better, than the Bucs line the interior struggled with.

Live blog:

11:13 PM: Our starters beat their starters. Blake Bortles outperformed Chad Henne. Looks like a victory to me.

11:08 PM: PUT IN RICKY STANZI.

10:49 PM: :-(

10:49 PM: I wanted that touchdown, Blake. I needed that touchdown.

10:41 PM: Still an encouraging thought that our backups' backups could hold a goal line stand to third down.

10:26 PM: Y'all earned it, Jaguars.

10:17 PM: Oh no.

10:06PM: NINJA BORTLES, INDEED.

10:02 PM: Blake Bortles gets the Jaguars in the red zone again, but still hasn't gotten his first NFL touchdown. Sigh...

9:41 PM: FIRST HALF OBSERVATIONS:

9:29 PM: Bart Hubbuch has complimented the Jaguars. In related news, hell has, reportedly, frozen over.

9:27 PM: Josh Scobee gets the hat trick! Jaguars are up 16-7 on the Bears.

9:24 PM: "Blake Bortles, Blake Bortles, Blake Bortles, Blake Bortles..."

8:57 PM: It was bound to happen. It's a rare occurrence to keep Jay Cutler or Brandon Marshall out of the end zone, even in the preseason.

8:45 PM: No! No, no, no! Not Cameron Bradfield! You can't make me!

8:38 PM: Marqise Lee scores the first touchdown of his NFL career! Chad Henne threw a great six-yard pass. Jaguars up 13-0.

8:29 PM: Another field goal! The Jaguars extended a lead on the road! Exclamation points!

8:18 PM: Jacksonville's defense just forced a three-and-out on the Bears opening drive. WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?

8:15 PM: Chad Henne is passing well! Josh Scobee kicked a 49-yard field goal! We got free Firehouse subs!

8:07 PM: Interesting. I wonder why it's not rookie Brandon Linder.

8:03 PM: But where's Prosinski?

7:24 PM: New York is starting to bleed teal. Legends NYC has been one of the most loyal to helping transplant Jaguars fans watch the team. Check them out here.

7:22 PM: Yeah, Allen Hurns is going to make the final 53-man roster. Excited. He can play any position on the field.

7:06 PM: If I've said it once I've said it a million times... best damn digital team in the league.

4:37 PM: GIVE ME ALL-BLACK UNIFORMS.

1:02 PM: IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT!

11:42 AM: ESPN Monday Night? But isn't today... wait... wait... oh man, I need to lie down.

11:01 AM: While you're waiting for the game to start, read up on how rookie Blake Bortles has impressed NFL.com's Chris Wesseling through the first week of the preseason.

9:39 AM: There's no way Chad Henne will be the most-sacked quarterback this year. He's only going to play, at most, six games. Smh, NFL Network.

8:40 AM: Breaking down the Jaguars quarterbacks and four more things you need to watch during tonight's game.

8:30 AM: Bears fans already tailgating? In bathrobes and on top of buildings, no less.
