The first week of NFL preseason is in the books... bring on the rankings!
Chris Wesseling of NFL.com listed all 32 backup quarterbacks in the NFL, and ranked them according to how confidently he'd feel going forward if the starting quarterback went down.
And, not surprisingly, Wesseling ranked Jaguars rookie Blake Bortles as the second-best backup and commented, "Bortles made more NFL throws in the preseason opener than the rest of the early-round rookies combined."
Fellow rookies on the list included Teddy Bridgewater (No. 4) and Derek Carr (No. 11). Johnny Manziel wasn't on the list because Wesseling believes him to be the starter for the Cleveland Browns and Brian Hoyer (No. 10) to be the backup.
Oh, and Blaine Gabbert ranked No. 32, behind the likes of Dan Orlovsky, Jeff Tuel, and Charlie Whitehurst.
Who do you think is the better backup quarterback: Michael Vick or Blake Bortles? Vote below and let us know!
