The Jacksonville Jaguars are hosting the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night at EverBank Field in the preseason finale for both teams. Week 4 of the preseason is little more than a tune up for the starters, but for the reserves it may be the last time they ever suit up for the Jaguars.
Head coach Gus Bradley has already said quarterback Chad Henne will be the starter in the regular season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. That means that even if rookie Blake Bortles has another superb game, it doesn't appear likely he'll start next week.
However, there's no indications that Bortles won't have a great game. Against backups in the first two preseason games, Bortles played like a veteran, and last week against the Detroit Lions starters he played the part of a franchise quarterback.

9:17 PM: Hey, the Jaguars may have lost, but Blake Bortles looked really, really good. (Again.) Goodnight, folks!
8:49 PM: Jaxson DeVille cares not for your 10-point leads in the preseason finale.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to give Jaxson a massive foghorn to use at will...big ups.— Casey Ayers (@caseyayers) August 29, 2014
8:45 PM: With the coaching staff not giving rookie Storm Johnson any reps, Jordan Todman is turning in a great performance.
Jordan Todman getting plenty of reps. Scores on a 3-yard touchdown to make it 24-14, Falcons. 11 carries, 37 yards. #Jaguars— John Oehser (@JohnOehser) August 29, 2014
8:27 PM: Another Falcons score! /drinks
A 27-yard field goal by Matt Bryant puts the Falcons up 24-7. Just 14:15 left in the 2014 preseason. #ATLvsJAX— Jay Adams (@FalconsJAdams) August 29, 2014
8:19 PM: And the Jaguars were in the red zone, had momentum, and Mike Brewster had to go and Mike Brewster all over the drive. We could've gotten to within one score, and now Kasey Redfern misses from 42 yards out.
Get the ball in the redzone, miss a FG from the 42. Sick.— Frank Vavrek (@FrankVavrek) August 29, 2014
#Jaguars QB Stanzi drive killed by bad snap from Brewster. Hmmm, sound familiar? Not way to make roster.— Eugene Frenette (@GeneFrenette) August 29, 2014
8:12 PM: Ace Sanders' night is done after an excellent punt return... and it seems after some post-play fighting with Falcons punter Matt Bosher!
Ace Sanders with a nice 31 yard return then shoved out by the punter who earned a personal foul for his work....Sanders can return 10/05/14— Brian Sexton (@JagsVoice) August 29, 2014
Ace Sanders seriously scrapping with the punter right now? Bruh— Scotty (@2Hawty) August 29, 2014

7:12 PM: Yup. This is Week 4 of the preseason alright.
T.J. Yates hooks up with Freddie Martino on a 67 yard touchdown pass, and the preseason rout is on. 20-7 #Falcons!— The Falcoholic (@TheFalcoholic) August 28, 2014
7:08 PM: And the Falcons respond quickly too.
No flags down either! That's a 66-yard run after a screen pass for Antone Smith. Touchdown, Falcons. #ATLvsJAX— Jay Adams (@FalconsJAdams) August 28, 2014
6:45 PM: So Blake Bortles responded quickly, but was pulled after this play. Jaguars tie the game 7-7.
6:36 PM: The Falcons get on the board first, with a score from rookie running back Devonta Freeman out of FSU.
Touchdown, Falcons. Devonta Freeman 1 run (Matt Bryant kick), 1:59 first quarter. Falcons 7, Jaguars 0.— John Oehser (@JohnOehser) August 28, 2014
6:08 PM: 6pm kickoffs are not good for fans. (cc: NFL)
4:37 PM: Blake Bortles is starting tonight. Hey boo.
3:29 PM: Listen. Then listen again. Then listen one last time.
2:38 PM: This video can even get you pumped for a preseason finale.
2:19 PM: Sad to see that rookie Craig Loston out of LSU won't be in the game. He was a long shot to make the roster as an undrafted free agent and it doesn't look like he'll have a fourth game to prove himself. Here's our predicted 53-man roster for the regular season opener.
Following Jaguars out Thursday (injuries): K Scobee, S Guy, CB Ball, S Loston, RT Pasztor, G Beadles, OT Wells, TE Harbor, DT Marks.— John Oehser (@JohnOehser) August 28, 2014
1:15 PM: The game may kick off at 6pm, but football will be on your television, radio, and computer screen starting at 3pm sharp.
11:40 AM: We're a little more than six hours to game time. Just enough time to read the SB Nation 2014 NFL Preview in its entirety!
10:52 AM: The view never gets old.
10:33 AM: Riding a motorcycle to the game? Of course you are! The Jaguars made this handy map just for you.
8:00 AM: Familiarize yourself with this 75-man roster, especially the names at the end of each position list. Those are the guys who will be getting the most playing time, and who might not be back next week after final cuts.
