Jaguars DE Andre Branch gets credit for another sack, now tied as NFL sack leader

Being defeated is often a temporary condition, giving up is what makes it permanent.

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars had the NFL sack leader after Week 1 in Ryan Davis. Then Davis' second sack was taken away. Now the Jacksonville Jaguars still have the NFL sack leader after Week 1... but it's Andre Branch.

Branch had originally finished the game with one sack, the one below on Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles in the middle of the first quarter.

That was an easy sack to credit. Branch was the only person to lay a hand on Foles and it was clearly a sack.

His second was a simple case of way too much confusion in the backfield. Foles was in the middle of his windup when Branch comes off the edge and looks to deflect a pass. But the reversal seemed to be that Branch's contact not only caused a fumble but forced Foles to the ground.

You've earned it, sir. Shine on.
