The Jacksonville Jaguars have lost their first two games by an average score of 37.5 to 13.5. The collective offense and defense haven't done well outside of the first half of the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. But, with two starting receivers out, a tight end gone until at least November, and a quarterback who's racking up garbage time stats, there's a few Jaguars players you can grab for your fantasy team.
Start 'Em
QB Chad Henne: He's been anything but spectacular in the first two weeks of the season, but from a fantasy perspective he's been serviceable. He's averaged 242 total yards, 1.5 touchdowns, and 0.5 interceptions per game through the first two weeks. Depending on how your league views yards, that's how valuable Henne is to your fantasy roster.
Predicted stat line: 215 total yards, 2 touchdowns
WR Allen Robinson: The Jaguars wide receiving corps is dwindling. Cecil Shorts III will likely not be active for game day, and Allen Hurns has all been ruled out. That means Marqise Lee, Allen Robinson, and Mike Brown are the only three receivers left. They'll likely activate Kerry Taylor from the practice squad, but I think a big, strong receiver like Robinson, who shows more downfield promise than any of the other healthy receivers, will fill the gap moreso than Lee or Brown.
Predicted stat line: 4 catches, 85 yards, 1 touchdown
TE Marcel Jensen: Mickey Shuler is literally the only healthy tight end on their roster, which means the Jaguars are sure to activate Marcel Jensen from the practice squad. Jensen showed himself a receiving threat, and I think that Henne looks to him in check down situations and red zone opportunities.
Predicted stat line: 6 catches, 60 yards, 1 touchdown
Sit 'Em
RB Toby Gerhart: He ran for eight yards on seven carries, and no other running back got more than one carry last week. Avoid any and all Jaguars running backs until further notice.
Predicted stat line: 45 total yards, 0 touchdown
WR Marqise Lee: Lee hasn't been used thus far in any downfield opportunities, which makes sense because Lee is a "Give him the ball quickly and let him move in open space" kind of guy. But with the Jaguars offense stalling, the only receivers that would be worth a pickup are the ones that pose the most downfield threat.
Predicted stat line: 3 catches, 35 yards, 0 touchdowns
TE Marcedes Lewis: I know this may seem obvious, but this is just a reminder that the Jaguars have ruled Lewis out for the next 6-8 weeks with a high ankle sprain.
Predicted stat line: 0 catches, 0 yards, 0 touchdowns
