Giants vs. Lions 2014: Game time, TV schedule, radio info, and more

The New York Giants and the Detroit Lions are the first of a Monday Night Football doubleheader to open up the 2014 NFL season schedule.

Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Giants are visiting the Detroit Lions to kick off the Monday Night Football schedule for the 2014 NFL season.

For Tom Coughlin, he's entering his 11th season with the Giants. Last year was a tale of two teams, as they lost their first six games, then won seven of their last 10. This was partly due to an ineffective running game that might have been caused by losing David Wilson for the year in Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Lions finished last year with the same 7-9 record as the Giants, but instead of losing their first six games they came out of the gate winning six of their first nine. However, Matt Stafford & Co. stalled in several winnable games. Because of a mediocre NFC North that saw the 8-7-1 Green Bay Packers win the division, two more wins would have given the Lions a playoff berth and home-field advantage in the Wild Card round.

The game is starting soon, Monday Night Football is (finally) on our televisions, so let's discuss it here!
