If you're like me, you're in need of another quarterback on your fantasy football team... and Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles remains a solid option.
Whether you're looking for a moderately priced option in FanDuel to get you a few more points than similarly rated players, or your QB1 is down in standard leagues, Bortles has put up surprisingly good numbers in either format.
Not only is he on pace for more than 3,700 yards and 26 touchdowns this year, but he's limited his turnovers, averaging one lost per game. That's a vast improvement statistically from 2,908 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 17 turnovers in 2014.
The AFC South has also got much weaker as a division this year in terms of defense, with the Tennessee Titans the only ones looking good statistically, giving up just 308.3 yards per game, ranking sixth in the league. The rest of the division -- the Houston Texans (332.7 yards, 13th), the Indianapolis Colts (373.0 yards, 21st), and the Jaguars (373.3 yards, 22nd) -- means that there will be a lot of yards given up this year in future divisional matchups.
That will certainly help Bortles, whose five touchdowns through the first three games is tied for eighth in the league.
Bortles is by no means a first-tier quarterback, but if you're looking for a FanDuel option that will allow you to save money at quarterback so you can put some more towards a better running back or wide receiver, he's your guy.
