Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Allen Hurns reached 1,000 yards in a single season, joining Allen Robinson and helping the team get its first 1,000-yard receiving duo since Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell did it in 2001. That's 14 years without a duo of receivers as good as Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns. Goodness gracious.
Hurns has quietly put together a solid season for the team. He's had just four 100-yard games leading up to today's matchup against the New Orleans Saints. He's gotten as low as 19 yards (Week 12 against the Tennessee Titans) and as high as 122 yards (Week 10 against the New York Jets).
Coming into the game, Hurns had 907 yards -- good for 25th in the league. He also caught an 80-yard touchdown this year, which was the fifth-longest play of the NFL in 2015 so far.
His eight touchdowns coming into Week 16 was tied for 14th-best in the league, alongside James Jones, Michael Crabtree, A.J. Green, and Brandin Cooks.
