Jaguars vs. Texans: Don't let the starters play a single snap

With Gus Bradley coming back for the 2016 season and wins meaning nothing apparently, the Jaguars have zero incentive to play any of their starters.

Reinhold Matay-USA TODAY Sports

Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan has officially named Gus Bradley as the head coach for next year, ahead of their Week 17 matchup against the Houston Texans. How an owner of a 5-10 team gives a head coach in his third year a stamp of approval before the season has ended is beyond me, but it is what it is.

All of this is to say... the 2016 season has begun now that Bradley isn't playing for anything more than pride and a 6-10 record over a 5-11 record. There is absolutely no reason to play any of your starters. They shouldn't even get on the plane. The Texans have already locked in a playoff spot anyway. We can't even play the role of spoiler.

Dammit.

We lost our best defensive playmaker in Sen'Derrick Marks during a meaningless season finale against the Texans last year. That field is awful. It's one of the worst in the league and has a higher potential for injury than most other playing surfaces.

Rest everyone. Start Chad Henne. Stay safe for 2016. This team is going to need all the help it can get.
