2015 NFL free agency: Broncos who could be Jaguars targets

With coaches fired and it likely being Peyton Manning's last season in Denver, could several Broncos be looking to jump ship early?

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

The Jacksonville Jaguars need veteran upgrades on offense and youth on defense. And guess what the Denver Broncos are offering in their 2015 NFL free agency class?

Although the Jaguars haven't historically signed a lot of Broncos, that doesn't mean they won't have their eye on some guys when free agency opens in a few weeks. Who is a free agent in March? Here's the full list:

Name Age Position Cap Hit Status
Wes Welker 33 WR $7,647,059 UFA
Demaryius Thomas 27 WR $4,700,000 UFA
Terrance Knighton 28 DT $2,750,000 UFA
Jacob Tamme 29 TE $2,200,000 UFA
Will Montgomery 32 C $1,925,000 UFA
Mitch Unrein 27 DT $1,431,000 UFA
Rahim Moore 25 S $1,415,313 UFA
Orlando Franklin 27 G $1,386,000 UFA
Nate Irving 26 ILB $818,750 UFA
Quinton Carter 26 S $758,750 UFA
Julius Thomas 26 TE $741,000 UFA
Virgil Green 26 TE $661,236 UFA
Steven Johnson 26 ILB $574,000 RFA
Aaron Brewer 24 LS $571,333 RFA
Tony Carter 28 CB $570,000 RFA
Brandon Marshall 25 OLB $495,000 RFA
Ben Garland 26 G $420,000 RFA
Paul Kornick 25 RT $420,000 ERFA
John Youboty 24 DE $303,000 ERFA

Let's get this out of the way: Peyton Manning tight ends are a bad investment. That's not to say that every tight end whom Peyton Manning has thrown to has been bad, rather their production is maximized by scheme and (more importantly) being thrown to by the best quarterback currently in the game.

Will Julius Thomas be a target? Sure. He should be. He's a good player. Will he be signed? Probably not, but only because he'll command more of a salary than his risk is worth. I'd say Miami Dolphins tight end Charles Clay or a high draft pick has a better chance donning a Jaguars jersey this fall.

Rahim Moore could get some play from general manager Dave Caldwell.

If any Broncos player garners interest, it's going to be Demaryius Thomas. He's young and no matter how you feel about our current receiving corps, our top four guys are three rookies and Cecil Shorts III.
